A new charity single ‘Love Is The Only Law’ is being released just in time for Christmas to raise funds for the Albert Kennedy Trust.
The Song stars a host of well-known singers and stars from 80’s singer Samantha Fox, Eastender’s star June Brown (Dot Cotton), Union J’s Jaymi Hensley and 80’s band Tight Fit- who famously sang the Lion King’s ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’. The song is a celebration of the 50 years since the legalisation of homosexuality laws in the United Kingdom and pays tribute to all of the strong voices and activists who have paved the way for a more open and accepting society in Britain today.
The charity supports young LGBTQI people who have encountered difficulties due to their sexuality and who have often become homeless due to abuse or not being accepted by their families. At least 24% of homeless youth identify as LGBT and according to statistics there are 150,000 young people in the UK either homeless or living in hostile environments.
All proceeds raised from the sale of Love Is The Only Law will help the charity support young people in difficult situations by helping them learn new work-based skills, connecting them to a support network, assisting them with their wellbeing and health as well as providing them with emergency accommodation. By buying the single for just 0.99p you will be making a contribution to help these young people in crisis while helping to raise the profile of LGBTQI youth issues in the UK.
Sometimes in life we take for granted the blessings and love we have from our families and friends but for some people they face rejection and hostility just because of who they are. Lets help end this stigma today. Love Is the Only Law!
The launch parties for the single will be held on the 3rd December for press at the exclusive Groucho Club in Soho and the 16th December at Fire, Vauxhall from 5pm-10pm with everyone welcome to come along to the latter event.
